About this blog

Why I’m here:

In the modern age of globalisation, why do big magazines and websites limit the accessibility of their content to those who speak their language? For example, the magazine Paris Match publishes its material exclusively in French. This amazes me, as the potential number of people they could reach and sell to, should they branch out in to other languages, would be far greater than their already substantial audience.

Excuse the slight cliché, but imagine if all the major societies of the world could see things from each other’s point of view. We’d have a greater understanding of our differences, and arguably a greater appreciation for them too. How interesting to consider the way another country or society views our own customs and beliefs, or culture. OR indeed those of another ‘foreign’ society. We can learn so much this way, hence my attempt to get the ball rolling between ourselves and our neighbours across the Channel.

Here I will be selecting various articles from Paris Match, and eventually other sources, and translating them into English. I want to prove that we should be interested in what other countries think, and how they view the world.
